NHRA
point system From January to November, professional competitors in the NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series will compete for national-event victories and the prestigious NHRA Winston championship. Competitors in the five professional categories -- top fuel, funny car, pro stock, pro stock motorcycle and pro stock truck -- earn points at all 22 NHRA Winston Drag Racing Series national events (12 events for pro stock truck, 14 events for pro stock motorcycle) on the 1998 schedule. The 16 qualifiers earn round points as follows: 100 -- Winner Additional points are awarded at national events as follows: 10 -- All competitors making at least one qualifying run. Qualifying positions earn points as follows: 8 -- No. 1
