The Volunteers Rialto "Penguins" The heart and soul of every show at the Rialto are the Rialto Volunteers. They are a group of about 250 men and women, young and old, who donate their time out of sheer love for this grand theatre. The Rialto Volunteers (affectionately known as "Penguins" because of their black and white uniforms) act as ushers, ticket takers, bartenders... whatever needs to be done in order to make the event a success. The Rialto Volunteers' generosity also extends to fundraising on behalf of the theatre. A craft show in November, a dance in June, raffles and candy sales, all to benefit the Rialto. In recent years the Rialto Volunteers have donated money for a variety of projects including: Replacing the stage floor, computers, new tables and chairs and much more. Being a Rialto Volunteer is a true labor of love and they love being a Rialto Volunteer.
